Hatching brine shrimp eggs for fish fry feeding

It is imprtant that you follow instructions for best hatch rate of your brine shrimp eggs. Below is what we recommend and we are getting very good results every single time we are hatching our excellent eggs.


Baby Brine Shrimp Hatching

1. Prepare incubation solution using seawater or tap water and non-iodized salt. The concentration of salt can range from 28-30g/liter             

The recommended pH level is 8.0-8.5. To increase the pH level, add sodium bicarbonate(NaHCO3).

2. Without preliminary washing add the cysts at the rate of 2 grams per liter of incubation solution.

3. Apply sufficient aeration to keep cysts in suspension.

4. During incubation maintain hatching solution temperature at 28-30°C.

5. Provide continuous illumination of no less than 1500Lux.

6. Incubate for 24 hours.

7. Preferably use a tank with a conical shape.

8. After hatching is complete stop aeration and siphon nauplii into a fine mesh.
